About Sandra

Sandra Murphy, IDS owner of Classic Design is well-versed in the fields of interior design, teaching, and psychology. Holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from William Paterson College in New Jersey, her first love was teaching. Working with young children, arts and crafts was a vital part of their curriculum. She loved to display their handiwork as well as devise creative bulletin boards for their enjoyment.
She saw the positive impact a creative environment had upon her students. Sandra went on to further enhance her talents as a student at Parsons School of Design in New York City. After moving to Massachusetts, she pursued a new career, interior design, through her avid association with wallpaper stores, design studios, and furniture retailers. Working with people comes naturally to Sandra. During her 12 years with Ethan Allen Inc., she received their Circle of Excellence Award many times for excellence in design and customer service skills.
After taking a comprehensive design exam, Sandra became a professional member of The Interior Design Society, a national organization. She served on all levels of Executive Board including President of New England Chapter.
Sandra offers interior design services to local clients in Massachusetts and around the globe with her Virtual Design Services, for those budget minded clients.
