As owner of Classic Design, Sandra Murphy IDS brings to this business over 20 years of design experience. Holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from William Paterson College in New Jersey, her first love was teaching. In her teaching career, she worked with young children where arts and crafts was a vital part of the curriculum. She loved to frequently display their handiwork as well as devise many creative bulletin boards for their enjoyment.

In doing so, she realized the positive impact a creative environment had upon her students. Sandra went on to further enhance her talents as a student at Parsons School of Design in New York City. After moving from New Jersey to Massachusetts, she pursued a new career in design through her avid association with wallpaper stores, design studios and furniture retailers. During her 12 years with Ethan Allen Inc., she had the distinction of being honored many times with awards for excellence in design and customer service skills.

After passing a comprehensive exam, Sandra became a professional member of The Interior Design Society,a national organization. She served on the executive board and held positions as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President of the New England Chapter.
